The money raised will be allocated to some of the following: stipend for students, salaries for program facilitators, marketing and teaching materials, program events and location rentals, to name a few.
With the help of your contribution, our Youth Construct program will be able to provide economically disadvantaged youth with an opportunity for a brighter future in the in-demand industry of construction administration.
The Youth Construct program will first focus on building a program for the local youth in 11th and 12th grades from Harlem, with future intentions of expanding.
The mission is to create a community for these students where they can gain the skills they need to succeed now and in the future. BLCD’s Youth Construct would provide a direct response to the increasing need for skilled back office construction administration for both, public (receives government and or City funds) and private projects.Currently there are certificates, undergraduate and graduate opportunities for adult to enter the construction trade, however, there is not enough access to the in demand industry of construction administration, and programs specifically for students still in high school.
